Michael J. Verdeja

Michael (MJ) joined One Real Estate Investment in February of 2024 and serves as the Vice President of Asset Management currently overseeing OREI’s West portfolio (Texas and Louisiana). MJ’s responsibilities include all aspects of asset management for the West Portfolio, financial modeling, due diligence, overseeing property management teams, and assisting the underwriting of potential acquisition opportunities. He brings 10 years of real estate investment experience across various roles in asset management, acquisitions, and structured asset management.

Prior to joining One Real Estate Investment, MJ served as the Director of Portfolio Management for Independencia Asset Management, one of the largest Latin American institutional investors in the U.S., specializing in the asset management and acquisitions of multifamily properties throughout the Sunbelt region. Prior to joining Independencia, MJ headed up the structured asset management team for Pensam Capital, overseeing +$160 million in multifamily mezzanine, bridge, and preferred equity investments for a portfolio valued in excess of +$1.5 billion. MJ earned his Bachelor’s of Science with a concentration in Finance from Saint Louis University.
